Based on 2024 SY data from Missouri Higher Ed, over 50% of Missouri’s first-year teachers have not completed Missouri Educational Prep Programs. Teachers that fall under this umbrella are those who are provisionally certified, have alternative certifications, have  substitute certifications. These non-traditional teachers, as well as our brand new first year teachers, have the content knowledge and skills to be successful in the classroom, but sometimes need additional support in the areas of classroom management and creating strong, supportive educational environments. If you are searching for a specific training that will address both classroom culture and instructional improvement for both teacher and leader, then this is the training for you!

During our Summer "Creating Champion District Training", we will be offering two separate strands to help districts meet these needs:

Strand One-Champion Teaching: Day One will focus on teaching techniques which can be used to improve classroom culture and increase student engagement in the shortest amount of teaching time. Day Two we will introduce an easy step-by-step process to improve instructional planning and implementation.

Session Descriptors - Strand One - Champion Teaching

Strand Two-Champion Leaders: In these sessions, we will look at ways to help new teachers create a positive instructional environment, what teachers really need to know from DESE and content, and how to ensure growth-oriented teacher feedback. All district leaders will begin and end the training with their teachers in the Champion Teaching sessions. District administrators and instructional coaches may sit in on all of the same training sessions as their teachers, or they can join fellow district leaders in their own sessions focusing on the same topics, but from the district leadership viewpoint.

During the training, individuals from each strand will have the opportunity to collaborate and develop a plan of support for the upcoming school year.

This Summer Leadership Training will be a great way for districts to bring leadership teams, instructional coaches, non-traditional teachers, and first year teachers together in one place to focus on their individual needs. Group discounts for individuals from the same district are available, so gather your folks and register for this exciting event today!
