Curriculum and Instructional Leaders Retreat

Measuring Curriculum Effectiveness in Documents and in Instructional Practice

July 20-21, 2026

Old Kinderhook Lodge, Camdenton, Missouri

Regular curriculum review requires a strong knowledge of more than just the standards. It is the teaching of those standards that must be the overall purpose of a well written curriculum. Do your documents include all the necessary information and practices needed to move the student success needle forward? Join us as we give a critical eye to our curriculum documents through the lenses of both what is present and what is taught.

We also know that A.I. is filtering its way into all aspects of our work, It is important that we know how to use this tool in a way that will help us maintain a written curriculum that meets our standard of excellence. Our emphasis will be on using A.I. as a “first pass” auditor to ensure that our documents, unit plans, lesson materials and assessments cover every standard and expectation.

We will review and adjust curriculum documents on the spot so that we can leave with a clear purpose and plan to continue the work throughout next school year.

It is our responsibility to make sure that we support strong instruction through a curriculum that is intentional and purposeful.  Effective curriculum is best when:

1. It can be easily accessed and used to its fullest capacity.

2. Its emphasis and assessments are focused on the priority standards and specific targets.

3. It contains all necessary and purposeful directions for effective instruction.

4. We can evaluate effectiveness using a variety of useful data points.

Join us this summer as we grow together to create the best in teaching and learning
