SMCAA is excited to partner with ACT to offer ACT Instructional Mastery (AIM) Training. Each course is a 2-day training in “bootcamp” format, and focuses on a specific subtest of the ACT. What is AIM? AIM At A Glance. The content of the ACT Instructional Mastery courses provides candidates with the information necessary to provide effective ACT test preparation, identify and recommend test-taking strategies, and understand test structure and content. This course is focused on using a variety of techniques—applicable to different types and levels of student.

Take a look at these awesome testimonials from individuals who have participated in the ACT Instructional Mastery (AIM) Trainings.
“I wish our whole department and middle schools in our feeder pattern had been there. We could work as a team to expose students to ACT type questions starting in 7th grade. It was beneficial to see the positives of what doing so might accomplish.”
(AIM Training: Math participant) “This is the best training I have received during a PD session. In fact, I was able to discuss the benefits of the ACT for all students not just those who plan to attend college.”
(AIM Training: Math participant) “Yes, I would recommend the course to other educators for content area ‘buy-ins’. SpEd teachers definitely need to take this class since we connect with all content areas.”
(AIM Training: Science Participant) “The information provided is exponentially valuable not just in scoring well on the ACT, but helping teachers better teach their students.” (AIM Training: Reading participant) “It brought the test to life instead of just pages of script. Collaboration was very beneficial as the test was analyzed.”
(AIM Training: English participant) “I enjoyed that this course was not just an overview of the ACT but also recommendations and discussions on how to teach to the test (for lack of a better term) in your classrooms”
(AIM Training: English Participant) No matter which training the participants went through, they all shared the same sentiment–the AIM Trainings are high-quality and beneficial not only for their students, but for their classroom instruction as well
