Explicit instruction is a method that allows students to learn in sections or parts and at a pace that will allow for the time and practice needed to solidify skills. With an effect size of .60, explicit teaching can provide the needed opportunities for students to demonstrate proficiency. During this study session, we will be introduced to:
- A clear definition and examples of explicit instruction
- The steps to use when practicing explicit instruction
- Providing opportunities for students to demonstrate skill proficiency

Target Audience: Curriculum Directors, Instructional Coaches, grade level and content teachers interested in ways to use explicit instruction in teaching specific skills.
