Data Literacy: Data Driven Decision Making at All Levels – WEBINAR -New Dates TBA

This training will be offered as two mini-sessions, each running 2 1/2 hours.

Studies have shown that using data wisely is a hallmark for improving schools; and when it comes to data, districts have an overabundance of it these days it seems. All the data in the world will have little impact unless teachers and administrators feel comfortable, knowledgeable, and skilled in analyzing the different forms of data at their fingertips.

Session 1: During our first session, we will take a look at what is meant by data literacy and the foundations of data teams. Participants will use their own district as a way of working through the steps leading up to creating action plans: determining focus; utilizing the right team members; sources of data; ways to examine the data; responding to data; and developing usable action plans.

Session 2: Moving from a global view to a grade level/content area is the focus of session 2. We will take a look at best practices related to running grade level data teams, as well as various protocols for analyzing data. Participants will leave with a sample data team workbook and ideas to help sustain and move their data discussion further along for the benefit of student achievement and growth.

Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM both days

Target Audience: Curriculum Directors, Administrators, Instructional Coaches, or lead teachers assigned leading data teams.
