SMCAA is a state-wide non-profit curriculum and instructional support association. Its mission is to provide support to member school districts for the development, implementation, and evaluation of local curriculum aligned to state adopted standards. We also provide training in instructional leadership, quality instruction and assessment.  Funding for the association comes largely from membership. Therefore, when we say, “We are only as strong as our membership,” we really mean it!

As schools become proficient in the new Missouri Learning Standards, SMCAA is prepared to continue its dedication to help schools identify clear learning targets, and develop aligned and appropriate assessments both of and for learning. Teachers will learn how to design content-rich curriculum that actively engages students in their own learning, through the creation of strong common assessments that will enhance conceptual student learning
